Today is International Podcast Day. It’s also Orange Shirt Day, which promotes awareness about the Indian residential school system still impacting Native American communities in the United States and Canada. It’s also National Love People Day, which asks us to lift others up through the profound power of unconditional love. (NOTE: Good luck with that one!). And it is National Mud Pack Day, which gives us all permission to get muddy. Step in mud! Play with mud! Put mud on your face! (Note: I am writing this with a mud pack on!).
Since this is a podcasting publication, let’s focus on the podcast celebration. As a celebratory event to International Podcast Day, Eurowaves, the go-to newsletter for European podcasting, is rolling out a year-round guide to the biggest and best podcasting events in Europe and beyond. From London to Berlin, Milan to Bucharest, and beyond, this living list brings together all the conferences, festivals, and awards you’ll want on your radar.
“The podcasting industry moves fast, and it’s easy to miss opportunities,” says Andreea Coscai, founder and editor of Eurowaves. “I wanted to create a resource that podcasters could rely on all year long: a one-stop shop for connecting with the global audio community.”
The guide encompasses everything from major industry events, such as Radiodays Europe and The Podcast Show London, to festivals like PodFest Berlin and Cheerful Earful London. It alsohighlights top awards, including the International Women’s Podcast Awards and The Lovie Awards, so creators never miss an entry deadline.
A few highlights from the 2025–2026 lineup:
● The Podcast Show London (May 20–21, 2026) — The world’s largest festival for the business of podcasting.
● Festival del Podcasting (Sept. 20 — Oct. 3, 2025) — Italy’s #1 podcasting event, bringing creators and brands together.
● PodFest Berlin (Oct. 17–19, 2025) — A celebration of Berlin’s podcast community.
The Eurowaves list will be continuously updated throughout the year, with reminders in newsletter issues about deadlines for sign-ups, tickets, and award submissions. Organizers and community members are invited to share events they’d like considered for the list.
Eurowaves creator/ host/ editor/ Romanian legend Andreea Coscai says: “Eurowaves has you covered if you’re booking your next business trip, planning a vacation, or just looking to meet fellow audio professionals.”
The newsletter was created by, and is written by, Andreea Coscai. I’ll let her tell you about herself: “I’m from Romania, in the Balkans, where press freedom is customarily restricted, and independent journalism is in a constant fight for sustainability. Having lived in China for two years, the U.S. for five, and now back in Europe, storytelling has become the connecting link of it all for me — a way to make sense of my own journey, connect dots across the world, and bring people together to have interest in issues beyond their borders.”
Andreea Coscai is a podcaster with experience in marketing, production, social media, and community-building. But more than anything, she’s a big podcasting fan and audio nerd.
Andreea continues: “The podcasting scene in Europe is very diverse. Each country has its own approach, but the more you look at it closely, you’ll see surprising similarities. Compared to the U.S. space which is well-developed (although debatably shaky), there’s plenty of room and need for growth, funding, and support. The great news is many wonderful podcasters are working to build those bridges and grow the European podcasting community. And I’m joining in!”
Eurowaves is filled with podcast recommendations from Andreea, industry insights, interviews with European podcast professionals, upcoming events and opportunities, spotlights on companies, and organizations driving change in European podcasting.
Andreea cannot contain herself: “And the part I’m most excited about: Every other newsletter will feature a curated selection of podcasts from a different European country — in its native language! If you’d like to be a curator, submissions are open! Reach out at andreea.coscai@gmail.com or connect with me on LinkedIn.”
